The comfort, distraction, passion, joy and beauty that music can offer and its ability to express the unspeakable are an endless source of inspiration for the work of dancer and choreographer Femke Gyselinck. In ERATO, an intimate and short solo, she choreographs herself to music by Palmistry, Gwilym Gold and Hiatus Kaiyote. Thus, she fuses music and physical expression into one voice.
Femke Gyselinck(b. 1983 in Belgium) is a dancer and choreographer. After graduating from P.A.R.T.S. in 2006, she worked as a freelance dancer with, among others, Eleanor Bauer, Andros Zins-Browne and Esther Venrooy. In her own work, Femke explores a dance language that is intricately interwoven with music, combining a brave performativity with subdued expression.
